Most recently, Clarkson served as Staff Director and Majority Clerk for the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Interior and Environment, where she managed $40 billion in annual spending across the Department of the Interior, Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Forest Service, and other agencies. In that role, she guided funding decisions on programs ranging from oil and gas development and conservation initiatives to infrastructure improvements and the development of chemicals and pesticides.

Clarkson also served as Professional Staff with the Subcommittees on Commerce, Justice, Science and Related Agencies and Homeland Security. In those roles, she oversaw more than $50 billion in annual federal spending for agencies such as NASA, NOAA, the National Science Foundation, and FEMA. Across her tenure at the House Appropriations Committee, she worked closely with Member offices and municipalities on Congressional earmarks, shepherding more than $1 billion annually from inception to enactment.

Cox, President of Capitol 6 Advisors. “Her deep policy knowledge and appropriations expertise will be invaluable to our clients as they navigate the legislative and regulatory landscape. I’m thrilled to welcome her to the Cap6 team.”
